Stones sit sunk between two walls of metal with nothing proud of the surface, so a channel band snags very little. The trade-off is that the walls restrict how far the ring can be resized. Have the setting checked every 12 to 18 months.

Stones cover the upper half of the band; only the plain lower half can be worked, which allows about one size either way.
