Payment
What happens to your card details
Short version: they do not come here. The card form belongs to a certified payment provider, your number goes straight to them, and this website never sees it.
The short version
- Card details are entered on a page hosted by a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment provider.
- Your full card number is never transmitted to, processed by, or stored on this website.
- Every page on this site is served over HTTPS, including every page in the checkout.
- Payments are subject to strong customer authentication, so your bank may ask you to confirm.
- We can see the amount, the outcome and the last four digits. Nothing more.
PCI DSS, and what it means here
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is the rulebook that applies to anyone who stores, processes or transmits cardholder data. The heaviest obligations fall on whoever actually handles the card number.
This shop is arranged so that it never does. The card form is served by the payment provider, on their infrastructure, under their certification. That keeps your number out of our systems entirely — which is a far stronger protection than any promise we could make about how carefully we would look after it.
The obligations that remain ours — keeping the payment page free of tampering, controlling what scripts run on it, serving everything over HTTPS — are ours, and we meet them. This site loads no third-party scripts of any kind. There is no analytics tag, no advertising pixel and no external font or stylesheet on any page.
Cards accepted
Both credit and debit cards of these schemes are accepted. There is no surcharge for using any particular card — surcharging consumer cards has been unlawful in the UK since 2018 and we would not do it in any case.
What appears on your statement
- Descriptor
- Vowline, or H & Y JEWELLERY LIMITED depending on your bank.
- Currency
- Pounds sterling (GBP). Cards issued abroad are converted by your own bank at its rate.
- When you are charged
- Once, in full, when the order is placed. There is no recurring charge and no deposit arrangement.
- Refunds
- Go back to the same card. Five to ten working days to appear, depending on the bank.
Strong customer authentication
Under the Payment Services Regulations most online card payments need a second check, usually a prompt in your banking app or a code by text. If that step fails the payment does not complete and no order is created. Try again, or use a different card, or call us and we will take it another way.
If you see a charge you do not recognise
Contact your bank first — they can stop a card immediately, which matters more than anything we can do. Then write to support@hyjewelleryuk.shop and we will tell you what we hold against that transaction and cancel any order attached to it.
We will never ask you for a full card number, a PIN, a security code or a banking password, by email, by telephone or by any other means. If you receive a message that appears to come from us asking for any of those, it did not come from us.
No credit, no instalments
There is no finance option at any stage of an order here. Consumer credit is a regulated activity, and this shop neither offers it nor introduces customers to firms that do. Terms
What we keep about a payment
An order reference, the amount, the outcome, and the last four digits of the card with its scheme — enough to match a refund to a payment and to answer a query. Order records are kept for six years to meet HMRC requirements. Privacy notice
